Root canal treatment is a procedure performed to remove inflamed or infected the soft inner pulp tissue of the tooth to save the natural tooth. The pulp tissue may get inflamed or infected due to various reasons such as a result of deep decay, trauma from repeated dental procedures on the tooth, or a blow to the tooth.  Endodontic treatment removes the damaged pulp and the root canals are cleaned and filled to help preserve the natural tooth.
